Ski Base Jump off Engineer Mountain
Matthias Giraud skied what most would consider a total nightmare - a dead-end line straight off a 340-foot cliff! When I first heard what Frenchie was up to, I couldn't believe it! . . . March 26, 2008, he pulled it off, four years after he first said he wanted to do it. He skied the southern face of Engineer Mountain (route, below) in Colorado's San Juan Mountains, including a perfect landing off the 340-foot cliff. (imagesmithphoto.com)
